As a trainer
and workshop presenter, Tom believes in bringing learning to life
through the use of active learning strategies. These strategies
facilitate a natural learning process which enhances comprehension and
retention of the curriculum. This approach to learning has been praised
by both students and adults alike.
With an extensive background
in personal development and leadership training, Tom coaches his
presenters to adopt and bring to life this philosophy of active
learning. Having addressed audiences in Japan, Holland, Poland, and all
over the United States, Tom embodies the idea that leadership training
and personal development knows no boundaries or borders.
Before
founding Excellence in Presentations, Tom served as a special
consultant to the California Department of Education for nineteen years
where he guided and coordinated the statewide leadership development
program for California's largest career and technical student
organization, the FFA. It was during this tenure that Tom conceived,
developed, and implemented a four-year integrated approach to
leadership development training for high school students which has been
recognized multiple times in joint resolutions by the California State
Legislature.
